Can we trust AI?

Can we trust AI?

Wrong question.

Better question: Under what conditions SHOULD we trust AI?

Trust isn’t binary. It’s a spectrum.

I’d trust AI to:

  • Process invoices at 2am
  • Flag anomalies in 10M data points
  • Draft a first version of a report

I wouldn’t trust AI to:

  • Make the final hiring decision
  • Set company strategy alone
  • Handle a crisis without human oversight

The companies getting AI right aren’t blindly trusting or blindly fearing.

They’re building trust frameworks:

  1. Define where AI decides autonomously
  2. Define where AI recommends, humans decide
  3. Define where humans lead, AI supports
  4. Monitor, learn, adjust boundaries

I explored this in depth on Future Bytes.
